Christine Jane Baranski (born May 2, 1952) is an American stage, television  and screen actress.

She portrays Leonard's mother, Beverly Hofstadter, in five episodes of The Big Bang Theory; twice on set and three times Via video chat.

Christine studied at Juilliard, won two Tony Awards (Best Actress (Featured Role - Play): in 1984 for Tom Stoppard's "The Real Thing;" and in 1989 for "Rumors") and was nominated for 10 Emmys (One nomination for TBBT and won one for "Cybil".)  She appeared again in season 7 in October, 2013.
