Dale replaces Stuart as he goes on his date with Amy
Dale appeared in "The Flaming Spittoon Acquisition", and was seen behind the cash register at the comic book store. He filled in when Stuart was out for coffee with Amy. He does not seem especially bright and is extremely dorky, which makes Leonard and Sheldon really uncomfortable. The fact that Stuart hired him suggests he is a family member, although, since Stuart is known as being in a tight financial situation, it is also possible he was simply a cheap hire.
In "The Tangible Affection Proof" he shows up at Raj and Stuart's singles only Valentine's Day party. He is glad he came because instead of being sad and alone on Valentine's Day, now he is just sad. He also thinks that Stuart is really cool.
