LeVar Burton was invited to Sheldon's social group gathering in the episode "The Toast Derivation" (S04E17) via Twitter. After waiting for him for a while, Sheldon concluded that LeVar was not attending his gathering and moved on. As the night developed, LeVar came to the gathering after Sheldon left, but when he saw Barry, Zack, and a half naked Stuart singing "I'm Walking On Sunshine", LeVar immediately left and decided to give up Twitter because of what he perceived to be going on at the apartment.

Sheldon commented that it surprisingly only took gas, free food and money to get him there. After Amy objected to his acting as episode director, stating he is worse than Wil Wheaton, Sheldon explained that he had to take his girlfriend's side. LeVar told him that he totally understood and questioned if he still got lunch. Then, a timid Sheldon nodded, so LeVar seemed happy, while Amy shook her head in frustration.
