Simon Maxwell Helberg (born December 9, 1980, Los Angeles, CA) is an American actor and

comedian. Helberg is best known for his role as Howard Wolowitz in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory. He was also a member of the recurring cast of comedians on sketch comedy series MADtv for one season

Personal LifeEdit

Helberg was born in Los Angeles, California, and is the son of German-born actor Sandy Helberg. He became a black belt in Karate by age 10, inspired by the film The Karate Kid. He was raised in a Jewish family.

Helberg attended middle and high school at the Crosswords School in Santa Monica, California, along with actor Jason Ritter, who later became his roommate at New York University. He attended NYU's Tisch School of The Arts, where he trained at the Atlantic Theatre Company.

Helberg is married to actress/filmmaker Jocelyn Towne, In May 2012, thier first child, a daughter named Adeline was born.
