On October 15th, 20 UCLA scholars were announced to be receiving The Big Bang Theory Scholarship Endowment. The ceremony took place on the hit comedy series set with cast members and executive producers Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady, and Steven Molaro along with representatives from UCLA, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and select benefactors present.

This is the first-ever UCLA scholarship created by and named after a television series. It will help undergraduate students studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) get a higher education at the university. The scholarship has raised more than $4 million dollars from show's cast, crew, and producers plus from Warner Bros. Television and CBS.

The 2015-16 scholars selected consist of seven female and thirteen male awardees pursing degrees in physics, astrophysics, chemistry, applied mathematics, biology, etc.
